I have this memory of walking past my best friend from elementary school and completely ignoring him. It has actually haunted me for a long time. What happened between us that I would discard a friend I had since second grade? I suspect it was because I craved "cool" and I decided that Bobby was too geeky for my entree into the "in" crowd.
